This Amherst County summit (in the GW Nat’l Forest not too far off of the Blue Ridge Parkway) is one of my favorite hikes in Va. The Appalachian Trail runs right across the summit. My friend John was going to be hiking through the scene here, but hiked in the opposite direction. I couldn’t find him, because he was a half mile away from here..Would’ve made a great shot!……
